How can I treat Anxiety?

Here are a few common treatments for anxiety:

  • Talking Therapy - Getting the right talking therapy can help you understand the messages your body sends and how to act in harmony with those needs or requests.
In areas with publicly funded health services, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is commonly offered as a treatment for anxiety. CBT, focuses on changing thought patterns, which often doesn't get to the root of the problem and can leave people with more frustration and anxiety.
  • Medication - Your doctor or psychiatrist may offer medication to help manage anxiety.
  • Relaxation Techniques - Guided meditations or relaxing music can help manage symptoms.
  • Self-help - This would include eating healthily, exercise and getting enough rest.
