Over time chronic anxiety can overwhelm and even paralyze us. We all have daily concerns, but when starting to experience symptoms of illness or noticing your ability to live life is being affected, it is time to reach out for help.
Anxiety is a feeling of unease, worry or fear and can go beyond daily concerns to become a serious condition. Different types of anxiety include social anxiety, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and phobias.
In the US over 40 million adults (about 19%) experience an anxiety disorder each year, 8 million adults (about 12%) in the UK and over 914 thousand adults (about 17%) in Ireland.
